Michelle DiMeo is a dancer, teacher and choreographer. Originally from Milwaukee, WI, she received her BFA in Dance with Honors from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her earliest influences include performing works by Simone Ferro and repertoire by Susan Marshall. After graduating, Michelle continued her studies attending various workshops and classes in New York and throughout Europe. She found new inspiration and guidance from teachers such as Susanne Linke, Guilherme Botelho and attending ImPuls Tanz (Vienna). Keeping Milwaukee as her home base, she worked extensively with Wild Space Dance Company (2004-2010). During this time, working under the direction of Debra Loewen, she discovered her interest in creative process, improvisation and site specific work. Desiring to seek out new experiences in a different dance community, she relocated to Minneapolis, MN. For the last 8 years, Michelle lived and worked throughout the Twin Cities, performing with Alternative Motion Project (2012-2018) and freelancing with various artists, most recently finding inspiration in collaborations and movement explorations with film director Ann Prim. Michelle also works as a STOTT Pilates Fully Certified Instructor and Instructor Trainer. She joined the MA CoDE program at HfMDK in Frankfurt in the Fall of 2019.
