His aunt Marisela Urbina and Mireya Oliveros (Folk Dance) are his earliest dance and teaching references. Also, Ana Castellucci, Daniel Salinas, Raquel Piñeiro, Ana E. Brito and Luis Villasmil influenced his journey of reflective movement. The diversity and community-unifying ideas of traditional and contemporary dance empower him to dive in this field.
In 2013: Juan moved to Ireland and he started to collaborate with many artists, including John Scott and William Frode.
Over Two a year period of research, he developed a community dance project with homeless people living in Dublin city, Supported by The Arts Council of Ireland and Dance Ireland. This re-enforced his artistic perspective: to advocate for human rights via the medium of dance.
