Mirjam Motzke was born in 2000 in Friedberg (Bavaria), Germany.
The starting point of her dance education was in 2004 in a little balletschool in her hometown. There she gained the fundamentals of classical ballet. In 2014 she increased her classical ballet training and discovered contemporary dance for herself.
Since 2017 Motzke is attending the bachelor dance program at Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Frankfurt am Main. There she developed her contemporary dance and classical ballet technique and gained experience in improvisation techniques, from Forsythe improvisastion techniques to contact improvisation and more. Furthermore she got in touch with international folkore. During this time she gained lots of stage experience. Performed repertoire from William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián and worked with choreographers like Paul Withe, Ivan Perez, Georg Reischl, Emmanuel Gat, Ayman Harper and Dieter Heitkamp. In the following year she is going to perform in Frankfurt pieces from Johannes Wieland, Emmanuel Gat and Regina van Berkel. In Addition to that she will be seen with a piece by Johannes Wieland at the Biennale in Hamburg.
Furthermore Motzke participated a one week internship at Volkstheater Rostock in 2016 and received 2018 the Mauree-Denman-Award.
