Born in Germany Fiona Kania started dancing in a private dance school. When she decided to aim for a professional dance career, she auditioned and got accepted at the (Dance-)Gymnasium Essen-Werden, where she continued her pre-professional dance training, both classical and contemporary, parallel with her school education
After Fiona graduated from Essen-Werden in June 2014, she started studying in the ZuKT Bachelor programme at the Frankfurt University for Music and Performing Arts in September 2014.
During her studies in Frankfurt she already got the chances to work and perform in pieces from choreographers such as Ivan Perez, Marc Spradling, Jean-Hugues Assohoto, Dieter Heitkamp, Kristel van Issum and Roberto Castello. With the possibility of getting in touch with choreographers out of different dancestyles (from neoclassical dance til dance theatre), Fiona grew into the balance between classical and contemporary dance.
In April 2016 she also made the experience of an one-week-internship with Ballet Coburg and participated in the Dortmund Ballet Summer School in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016, where she learned Repertoire from Mauro Bigonzetti, Christian Spuck and Jacopo Godani.
Currently Fiona is focusing on getting her bachelor degree and has chosen the classical focus for her third year.
For the future she is especially interested in neoclassical and contemporary work with a strong physical and classical base.
