The teaching degree programs at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) require an excellent knowledge of German. General information on Teaching Degrees in Music
The HfMDK offers teaching degrees in music for the following types of schools:
Primary schools (L1)
Secondary schools/Middle schools (L2)
Secondary schools/High school (German: Gymnasium) (L3)
Schools for children with learning disabilities (L5)
All the degree programs conclude with a state examination.
Teaching degrees in other school subjects and in Educational Science are offered by Goethe University Frankfurt.
Applicants for teaching degrees in music must have a university entrance qualification (equivalent to the German Abitur) and must show musical-artistic talent. This will be tested in an entrance examination. Students may commence the degree programs in either the winter or the summer semester.
