The Master's degree in Church Music gives students a further professional qualification, fulfilling the requirements for employment as a cantor and organist in a so-called A post or similar. Master's graduates in Church Music achieve an outstanding of performance and/or theoretical and musicological expertise, enabling them to work in supervisory functions in a Church region and to train and further qualify full- and part-time church musicians. They can also advise church bodies on musical issues and represent church music to the public.
Applicants for the Master's degree program must have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Protestant or Catholic Church Music or a Church Music B diploma (Protestant/Catholic) and have passed an entrance examination.
