Dear applicants in the subject violin,
for the digital pre-selection you will find here the instructions, subject requirements and the form with which you can send in the links to your videos (on YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) for the main round of the entrance examinations.
It is expected that the aptitude test in the main subject violin will be completely digital. Note on applications for the Bachelor's program: In case of a positive evaluation, you will be invited to take an aptitude test in the subjects music theory, aural training and piano at the end of January/beginning of February. We will provide you with comprehensive information on this from January 13, 2021.
In exceptional cases, you can submit videos via alternative channels (e.g. if you do not have access to video upload portals due to country-specific restrictions). In this case - and also in case of further questions - please write an e-mail to lisa.beck@hfmdk-frankfurt.de or contact the Studienservice.
Please make every effort within the bounds of your possibilities to ensure good sound and image quality. However, it is not necessary to produce a professional studio recording. You are free in the choice of recording equipment.
You must remain visible in the picture during the game and be clearly identifiable. Within the works (single movements for cyclical works such as sonatas or suites) no picture or sound cuts are allowed. Video recordings that have already been produced on another occasion will also be accepted; settings from different cameras are also permitted.
The recordings must have been made after 1 May 2020.
Please upload your videos to a streaming platform of your choice (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, Clouds, etc.). The videos must be accessible without password and streamed without downloading the file.
Please create one video file per work (e.g. a sonata, suite, aria). You can provide up to 6 links.
Please make sure that the videos are available via the links until February 28, 2021.
You can submit the links to your videos until December 15, 2020 at 23:59 German time. After that time the form will no longer be available.
