Katarzyna Ustowska was born in Gdansk, Poland, where she began her
professional dance education at the State Ballet School (1998-2008). After graduation she moved to Great Britain to continue her studies at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where she obtained her BPA(Hons) from the University of Kent in 2012. Soon after she became a member of Verve'12 company (Postgraduate diploma, NSCD) where she performed in range of performances by choreographers: Lea Anderson, Milan Kozánek, Jordan Massarella and Akram Khan; turning through Europe and UK.
Since 2013 she works with Dada von Bzdülöw Theater (Leszek Bzdyl and Katarzyna Chmielewska), based in Gdansk, Poland. She performed in performances: Enclave 4/7 (2013), INTRO (2015). As a dancer she collaborated with choreographers including: Roberto Zappalà, Ivgi&Greben and Roberto Olivan.
Her independent choreographic works have been awarded several prizes, including choreographic competition of TVP Kultura (Polish TV cultural channel) and Sopot’s Muse - the prize for Young Artists of the President of Sopot.
Alongside dancing she is deepening her practice in Shiatsu.
She enrolled in the MA CoDE program in April 2015.
