Kasia Kizior – dancer and choreographer born in Poland. In her early years she studied ballet and folk dance at the National Ballet School/Lodz. Her interests led her to the Theatre and Film Arts High School and she later achieved a B.A. degree in Political Sciences at the University of Humanities and Economics/Lodz investigating the social aspects of her research. In this context she explored folk dances of Georgia, Saudi Arabia as well as Hassidic dances in relation to political cultural and religious forces in the field of dance.
Since 2006 she has been working with Zawirowania Dance Company/Warsaw collaborating with: M.Pirog, E.Piorun, D.Merlo, J.deTorres and
The Opera House/ Warsaw: M.Kleczewska, B.Wysocka and T.Wygoda.
The strength and value of her experience lies in diversity and multiple genres. She expanded her classical dance background to more exploratory and awareness-related work like Contact Improvisation, Release Technique, Gaga, Floor Work, Yoga, Pilates, Jazz and Modern. Kasia has been working with professional dancers as well as figure skaters, traceurs, actors, musicians, singers, bodybuilders and circus artists. Further more she has moulded her pedagogical experience teaching dancers, amateurs, mixed-ability students and kids. Engaged in television and video production, she has choreographed for films, TV series, concerts, publicities and dance competition shows such as “So you think you can dance”/Poland. From now on MAztp is taking part in her story.
