Astrid was born in the Netherlands in 1995. She started dancing at an early age. In 2006 she started at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem, where she trained ballet and folkloric dance. Later she participated at the pre-education at ArtEZ, which was integrated in her secondary school. She was trained in ballet, pointe, folkloric dance, Graham and Cunningham. She danced in pieces created by Samir Calixto, Annegien Sneep and she was part of the performance for Hans van Manen his 75th birthday choreographed by Adriaan Luteijn. She took extra ballet and pointe classes in The Hague, taught by Mirella Simoncini.
Nowadays she is studying bachelor dance at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main, directed by Dieter Heitkamp. During her studies she performed in original pieces by Ivan Perez, Marguerite Donlon and she danced in “No Play Hero” by Yuval Pick. Parallel with her studies she took a workshop with Ultima Vez and she joined a Gaga Summer intensive in Antwerpen.
