Narae Shin was born and raised in Daejeon, South Korea. She started her dance education with ballet classes in 2007, taught by Mi-kyeong Lee in Korea. At the age of 18 she came aboard to Germany to continue studying dance and is now enrolled in the BA dance program at Frankfurt University for Music and Performing Arts.
She studies ballet, contemporary dance and folklore dance with Sabine Koehler, Nora Kimball-Mentzos, Allison Brown, Prof. Mark Spradling, Prof. Andrea Tallis, Jean-Hugues Assohoto, Prof. Dieter Heitkamp and Prof. Susanne Noodt.
She has danced pieces of choreographers such as Jean-Hugues Assohoto, Jean-Guillaume Weis ,Susanne Noodt, Dieter Heitkamp, Sjoerd Vreugdenhil, Sagi Gross and took a part in a project with Richard Siegal.
Currently she can be seen on stage in pieces of Regina van Berkel, Marguerit Donlon and Wiliam Forsythe.
