• Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
The program consists primarily of private lessons in the chosen department. Those studying orchestral instruments may participate in the College Orchestra and in Chamber Music when needed.
The Exam consists of an internal university performance (Part 1) and a public concert (Part 2). For the first part of the exam, students put forth a lecture sequence that must contain two solo concerts. The first part of the exam should be completed within three months of notification of approved program proposals. For the second part, students put forward two proposals for an evening concert. The audit committee either selects one of the two or chooses portions from each to create a new performance order. The second portion should be completed within three weeks after the first.
