The stage production of Alessandro Stradella's "San Giovanni Battista" in 2011 during the Rheingau Music Festival marked the second cooperation between the Institute of Historical Practice of Interpretation and this Festival.

The highlight in the year's work at the Institute is the "Baroque Night" or "Baroque Festival" in summer. This annual festival was launched in 1996, and since 2006 it has been held in conjunction with the Weilburg Schlosskonzerte and FAM Mannheim. This is a one-day mini festival featuring around 30 concerts and a stage production of a vocal work. A special feature of many of the programmes is the cooperation of university teachers with their students.
