During the re-enrollment period students may ask for leave of absence for important reasons. The student retains his/her status as an enrolled student during the leave of absence and is obliged to pay the complete semester fee. A vacation semester does not count as course semester and no proof of academic achievement can be attained during this period.
The application for a leave of absence must be made in writing (form obtainable from the Division of Student Affairs - Abteilung für Studentische Angelegenheiten). Any proofs required should be attached to the application.
No retrospective leave of absence can be granted after the end of a semester.
